Two page studio layout

This layout was one of my favorite assignments so far for our drawing class because it really allowed us to display our view of what studio is like. For me, I didn't focus much on the academic side of it as much as I paid attention to the social aspects of it. Studio, like Tommy says, is something that not many people will get to experience and I feel as though we're lucky to have our own spaces, even though it may be stressful at times. I tried to capture the uniqueness of studio in my layout, and however sucessful I was...I had fun along the way.

Shadow Portrait

Although this does not resemble me at all, it was certainly one of the most enjoyable assignments I've done so far.

pencil box

Although the lid to my pencil box really doesn't shut, whatsoever, I am still pleased with everything else on the box. In fact, I kind of like the top not closing because I can get my pencils whenever I want to and not waste time with opening it. By the time this box was completed, in all honesty, I was completely fed up with the entire project and didn't have much concern for the top.

"Second time around" profiles

Although these profiles aren't perfect either, I feel a lot better about them than my last two that I posted. I also feel better about my ability to do more in the future, and I'm hoping the qualiity will improve with more practice.

Profiles

These profiles are certainly not the best, and my lower one looks like a monkey. However, I love that we have a "formula" to follow in drawing these profiles, instead of having to guess.

People

these are my contours of people. I'm obviously just beginning though...

Bike

this is just one of our many drawing assignments, but I thought it looked kind of cool upside down.

Downtown Contours

My contour drawings could have been a lot better, but it was just so hot while I was drawing. The first sketch is probably my worst because it was done immediately after walking a LOT downtown and I was really in no mood. I don't have reasoning for why my others were bad but I know that I need to improve on patience and proportion.

Celebration of the egg...

I celebrated the egg's nutritional quality (hence the pyramid) but my place and egg are so white, you can barely see anything.

First and second Foust contours

These are the contour drawings that we did on campus. It was incredibly hot that day and I was miserable. The bottom drawing is my first attempt, which looks rushed. I actually had less time to draw on my second try with this sketch, and I think it still looks better.

3 negative space, 1 blind contour...oh yeah.

My did my negative space drawings, for the most part, incorrectly. I know I was supposed to leave out the details, but my umbrella and lounge chair just looked ridiculous and unidentifiable. My stool is just horrid though, details won't make anything better on that sketch...
